100 Century. The Century that feels like a Megayacht

When Astondoa celebrated its 100-year anniversary, the 100’ Century was the ideal commemoration, melding the traditions of the Spanish shipyard with the needs of the today’s yacht customer. By coupling expansive outdoor space to accommodate large groups of family and friends, with exquisite interiors, providing comfort, easy living and Italian design, Astondoa created the formula for a magnificent yacht. At 100’ the Century feels like a Megayacht, yet handles like a powerboat.

The technological advances in hull design have enabled Astondoa to continually update its family-run shipyard, using advanced 3D printers, five-axis machining, infusion and vacuum-based construction. Incorporating the newest synthetics like carbon and Kevlar and metals like titanium, into its fiberglass hulls, Astondoa has enhanced its builds, which are optimized for space, flexibility, durability and weight, positively impacting speed and fuel consumption.

Likewise, Astondoa is involved in conservation, working with its community to minimize the environmental impact of recreational boating and shipbuilding and maximize the quality of our seas—the inspiration behind each Astondoa yacht.

The spacious flybridge is the Century’s focus as it makes the most of the outside space yet provides a protected flybridge. Its louvered retractable sunroof adds extra natural light and air when desired—and also provides for peaceful or romantic stargazing.

The latest 100 Century incorporates an open-air, fully equipped galley with a wet bar and grill, and additional bar seating, perfect for al fresco dining and entertaining. The galley opens aft to a large teak deck and Jacuzzi, surrounded by sun pads, ideal to sun, soak or siesta. Forward of the pilothouse, another huge sun pad overlooks the sea and just one step away, is another bow lounge area with tables, covered by a Bimini top when needed for shaded relaxation, socializing or dining.

The upper helm station gives the captain a wide view, comfort and all the technology needed to operate from the flybridge; or, from the inside pilot house away from the elements, a flat dash and multi-screen navigational system provide a wide expanse of top-of-the-line instrumentation.

The upper deck of the Astondoa 100 Century is one level from bow to stern so as a “walk-around” yacht, it is comfortable for all ages to access multiple lounges and sun pads. Stairs lead down to the main deck where to starboard, an electric door welcomes you to the spacious salon, also accessible from the aft deck. After a few more steps down, the large teak-lined garage door opens to the water line, offering guests a tender, water toys and a variety of on-water activities.

The comforts of home

Astondoa joined forces with Cristiano Gatto to meld his Italian design with the shipyard’s Spanish craftsmanship, creating the most elegant décor packages—all totally customizable. From the salon to the staterooms and heads, natural textures, metals, glass and woods are combined to create the ultimate in aesthetics for any taste.

The full-beam master suite on the main deck has a walk-in closet, large storage spaces, a vanity table and lounges. A luxurious en suite head includes his and her sinks. A curved wooden staircase leads to the lower deck and four elegant guest suites, also with in suite heads, providing for up to 12 guests in comfort and style. Crew quarters for three ensure that everyone is pampered.

The salon brings the outside, in through floor to ceiling windows. Comfortable couches invite relaxation and socializing, which extends through a full-beam glass door to a teak aft deck, with even more lounging and dining space. The galley is tucked behind the adjoining formal dining area to accommodate entertaining—with plenty of space for provisioning and preparation.
